I have been observing three months in a public school. One of the months completely lost because my CT was changed. I have a new CT that doesn't care about his student-teachers. I spend more than 2 hours transcribing just an hour of observation in my computer. At least my students pay attention to my classes so far. How about your practicum? Do you think that your practicum is frustrating you or is making you love more and more this profession?
I think that the practicum is hard, but I have found it very interesting... I already had some teaching experience and that has made the process a little easier... I would say that the most difficult part is to carry out a research project at the same time...
ReplyDeleteI love teaching classes but I hate doing the research project!!!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree, it suck! working for free and wasting time!!
ReplyDeleteI think the practicum process in the school of languages is not well structured and organized. They do not care about our situation in the schools, they just put us there and leave us on their own.

ReplyDeleteI think that always is the same... the same topics are repeated over and over again... and what happens??? the work in high school doesn't change... I don't understand why the practicum has to work always with action-research.... for me... practicum is pretty hard but actually it depends more on the advisor we have... and moreover, it's on the practicum where we face reality in high schools... well... at least a part of it, and it is here when you figure out whether you want to work on this field or don't...
